My Journey to Unconditional Self-Love & Body Positivity hasn't been a straight line but I have never appreciated this journey more because of where it has led me to help women at this stage of my life...

I began my journey at 300 lbs, but I am not a number.
2020 changed so many things about our lives and it was the year I entered my 40's. It was the craziest year of most of our lives and it also came with it a lot of gifts of self-reflection and personal growth.
Having lost/gained hundreds of pounds, having coached hundreds of women & reinventing the roadmap and recommitting hundreds of times over, I questioned my very ability to gain true control over my nutrition IN SPITE of all the education and knowledge of "what to do" only to feel powerless and lacking the "self-discipline" to stick to a healthy eating protocol that would help me reach my goals.
I am a self-empowerment junkie, so feeling "powerless" with something that truly felt like something I was MEANT to overcome so that I could help others has never sat with me for very long. So I KNEW there was something I was missing and I was GOING to figure it out not just for me, but for women like me and toward the end of 2020, it was like a veil was lifted and it all came into alignment. I began learning the "meta" skill of managing my mindset with food in a way that would empower me to take complete control FOR LIFE.
I gave up allowing self-criticism and became my own big sister in terms of policing the kinds of things I would allow myself to think or speak about myself as well as with the people I surround myself with on a daily basis. It is a process of deconstructing and unlearning diet culture as well as the impact that patriarchy has had on the messaging that women receive in the world that impacts how they speak about themselves.
This journey is no joke and it allows me to help other women who struggle with feeling freedom and control over their nutrition to shift away from the diet mentality and into a journey of self-acceptance and authentic unconditional self-love. Spoiler alert: self-acceptance does NOT mean resigning to staying the same, it's the first step to reaching ALL of your goals.
